ACI Member Sustainability News: Eastman, Ecolab, and Unilever

The ACI Member Sustainability Showcase is our one-stop online information source for cleaning product industry sustainability updates. It is a portal to our member companies’ best sustainability content, including sustainability reports, webpages, press releases, and other initiatives.

ACI is enthusiastic about every opportunity to celebrate and promote the sustainability success stories of all our member companies. With countless efforts underway in companies large and small, we believe it is important to support and promote their activities year-round.

In the news this week:

Eastman Chemical Company collected a record-setting 25,000 items for the 2016 Supplies for Soldiers campaign. Supplies for Soldiers provides support to loved ones, friends, family members and neighbors that are deployed overseas during the holiday season. In December, more than 1,000 care packages made their way around the world to 73 U.S. soldiers deployed overseas.

Ecolab Inc. awarded $1.1 million in grants to K-12 educators throughout the U.S. through the Ecolab Foundation’s 2016 Visions for Learning Educator Grants program. The Visions for Learning program provides K-12 teachers with funds to purchase equipment and materials to enhance the classroom experience for their students. In 2016, more than 680 grants were provided through the Visions for Learning program, benefitting nearly 340 schools and more than 150,000 students nationwide.

Unilever announced a new transparency initiative to provide people with access to additional ingredient information about its home and personal care products. The initiative goes beyond labelling requirements to provide in-depth product and ingredient information. Launching in the US and Europe, the initiative includes fragrance ingredient disclosure; a What’s in our Products section on Unilever websites; and enhanced fragrance allergen information.
